Overview
The outbreak of COVID-19 was not only a disaster for our students to learn distantly but also an opportunity for them to be an expert in digital teaching. Due to the nature of our program, our students have the teaching duties to empower the Bachelor or Master students in their institutes. In order to empower their digital teaching design skills,
I rolled out a self-paced learning guideline regarding the use of Articulate Storyline.
Process
Since I did not always have time to schedule a zoom meeting with our students to teach them Articulate Storyline one by one, I brainstormed topics that are necessary as well as tricks that are easy for them to apply on their layout design. Starting from the story size design to Javascript snippets coding.

I decided to use a minimal approach to design but at the same time, I wanted to create an engaging experience. So the students do not just scroll through my material but also really follow what it is saying.
Therefore, I set up a different assignment in each session. Students must read through all the blocks before moving into the next session and students have different assignments in different sessions, which they are ensured to be excel in Articulate Storyline upon completion.

Results and Giveaway
The self-paced reading material was given away to every student on our Moodle. Since this was also my first project at MPSP, I also conducted a questionnaire to investigate students’ epistemic emotions to understand whether they like the new format of instructional design at MPSP. The epistemic emotions questionnaire indicated that students felt surprised and amazed.
This project summarized my Articulate Storyline skills and helped me build confidence in empowering other people on this application. It also showed me that I am already an independent instructional designer without any additional support.
